Crosses and Milagros

Viva Oaxaca's handmade wall crosses are fashioned of wood and tin. These Christian devotional figures range from simple, hand-tooled, tin crosses to larger, creatively designed wood crosses. The wooden crosses are often adorned with metal milagros. These are religious charms, usually figures of body parts, that focus attention on a particular health concern needing spiritual help. The artists who make the crosses for us are based in Oaxaca and in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
